A new doctor came to the house today, Dr. Jakda is on vacation. I missed this dr's name.
He asked Mom some questions:
Year? 1999
Month? July
Location? Cambridge
Who's beside you? My baby girl Andrea - in the affectionate sense. She knows Andrea is not a baby.
Good that she was talking, as she hasn't been talking much. As Andrea said, not much sensible talking. She was pretty close to correct with some of her answers. Wouldn't we love to go back to July.
Mom may have just a few days left, so the plan is to keep her at home. Gramma is staying, I'm going on Wed.
With the catheter, Mom does not need to get on the commode.
With the medication pump, no pills to give. She can't swallow them anyway.
The dr. said we don't need to offer her food or water. That may just feed the cancer. Mom doesn't feel hungry or thirsty. Amazing that she has survived on so very little food and water intake. This cancer is viscious & angry, but Mom's body has been fighting it right back. Bone cancer is said to be the most painful type of cancer. She has been very fidgety - her hip hurts, her legs, her back hurts. That's where it is.
Even when she is not responsive, we think she can still hear what is going on around her, know when people are talking to her. On Saturday we put a funky hat on her & she bopped her head to the music. She is still happy. Not complaining. I'll do that on her behalf. This is not right and not fair. But this is.
Again I'll say how glad I am we had the Celebration of Life. What an awesome Mom.
