Lots of updates now!! We're all happy to share our experiences.
At 8:00am, Mom started shouting, "Ah, Ah, I don't have any brakes!!" She was so scared. She saw Andrea, me & Bob, we told her she was at home, but she said, "No I'm not!" It took her a while to calm down, she kept saying "Oh my God..."
She's been so awake during the night. I really think she doesn't want to go. Whenever anyone comes, she brightens up. She wants to be part of it.
Last night I came down for a few hours. She was so awake. She said, "I hope you're not disappointed in me". Never Mama, I love you forever.
She asked me where I was born.
She was talking the whole time, mostly filler words, "you know... ummm... but... I think we..." She was constantly talking, sometimes mumbling. It seemed a few times like her eyes were tearing up.
She seems to sleep best when surrounded by people. Then she can still be part of it. When you're in a group, you don't have to talk. She can just listen and still be part of it.
All my guesses of course & who's to know what is going on in her head. I wish it was more good thoughts in there.
Warm hands, calm breathing. Strong life force.
More later.

A funny story:
Mom always drove a van. Good thing when I was driving an old Tercel that often broke down. She would come - after I walked to a pay phone to call her - and tie a rope from her van to my car to pull me. I would steer my car & apply brakes when needed. Who needs CAA?

That's fantastic. I totally remember that van and your Mom picking Bud, Becky and me up from CYO dances! It always amazed me how good Cathleen became at driving it.
