Hello everyone,
I just heard from the Radiation Center. Carol Anne will start radiation on Thursday, October 8 at 10am. She will have another session on Friday at 10:30, then nothing on Saturday, Sunday, and Monday. The last 3 will be on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. The times of those appointments will be given to us later on.
Gayle came over on Saturday and relaxed with us for a few hours. Maggie was here from Sunday until today and it was amazing to have her here. Gramma took over again this afternoon so Maggie could go back home to Pennsylvania.
Gramma might be the one to take Mom to her appointments, but hopefully we won't have to make her drive. Although she is a good driver, only people from Kitchener know how to get around here without having a panic attack. Hopefully my boyfriend John, who also lives with us, will be able to help with the driving also, while I'm in school.
Carol Anne is still constantly tired. Her speaking has changed since she became sick in September, and remains a little slower than before. However, she isn't feeling sick, or pain or dizziness any more. Bob and Maggie have been reading out loud to her, and getting her out of the house for at least a little while, almost daily; shopping or getting a coffee. She moves around the house during the day, coming downstairs to eat, or going down the hall to watch TV.
We are looking forward to Thanksgiving dinner on Sunday at Cathie and Peter's!
I will continue to update this more regularly. Thank you for checking in.
